Figure Drawing Workshop (AUG 17-SEP 7)

Sale Price:$250.00 Original Price:$275.00
sale

Meeting Times: Sundays 9:30AM - 1PM (live model will be present)

This workshop will serve as foundation to understanding figure in space and offer tools for understanding the abstract qualities of figuration and representation. Each session involves working from a live model for two and a half hours, followed by an hour of discussion about the works made during this time.

The primary objective of this workshop is to introduce the abstract foundation of pictorial construction through figuration. Students will gain a variety of visual tools that explore matters of plasticity, visual poetry, and command of lines and values. Along the way, students will also discover the uniqueness of their own perceptual experience and how that translates into the way one communicates and thinks visually. This course will equip students to critically approach their own works while embracing the challenges of creatively solving the dilemma between one’s eye and mind in the process of image-making.

Supplies:
Newprint paper pad 18” x 24”
Drawing paper pad 18” x 24”
Charcoal
Chamois cloth
Kneaded eraser
Regular eraser

Early bird ($25 off) ends July 27)
