Meeting Times: Saturdays 9AM - 1PM
*We will take an intermission over Thanksgiving weekend
From Drawing Marathon, Intensive Cohort, Painting and Drawing Classes, to Weekly Transcription Challenges, we compiled the best projects that yielded high praises and breakthroughs. Participants will have the opportunity to sample the strengths and variety that each curriculum has to offer, while exploring concepts and skills that are relevant to perceptual image making.
Participants can expect to approach the process of image making with fresh perspectives and expand upon their command of visual elements, resorting to them as both devices and forces in creating poetry and mystery.
Throughout our time together, we will discuss art history as appropriate and supplement necessary resources to assist in the understanding of each project objective. This course is suitable for newcomers and regulars alike, and is open to all levels of experiences.
Supplies needed:
- Bob’s Fine Vine Charcoal
- 18” x 24” Drawing paper pad
- Kneaded eraser & Regular Eraser
- Chamois cloth
- Oil paint set (Gamblin or Utrecht will work great)
- Paint brushes
- Two glass jars (8 oz or more)
- Linseed oil
- Gamsol
- Two 9” x 12” canvases/canvas boards
For those who do not wish to purchase supplies, the materials and tools can be loaned and shared from JPA for a convenient fee of $25.
