Drawing Methods (OCT 4 - 25)
Sundays 9:30AM to 12:30PM
Beginner to Intermediate
This class is taught in collaboration with visiting artists Brooke McVeigh and Cecilia Ford
In this class we will cover:
Flatness vs Volume in drawings
Additive and subtractive working methods

Composition
Over the span of four meetings, participants will survey various ways of building up a drawing and acquire basic drawing and observational skills. The goal of this course is to equip participants with techniques that can be practiced and refined beyond the duration of this class and to help deepen their relationship with drawing. We will be working primarily from still life, with one class meeting to create drawings from master artworks at the Saint Louis Art Museum.
Supplies needed:
- Bob’s Fine Vine Charcoal
- Rubber eraser
- Kneaded eraser
- Chamois cloth
- 18” x 24” drawing paper pad
- Spray Fixative
Easels and drawing boards will be provided at the studio.
